Where the units setting is
Measurement units in AIM are set at the site level, not at the account level. This means you can have some sites displaying in metric and others in imperial depending on the requirements of each project.
To change the units for a site:
1. Open the site in the AIM Platform
2. Go to the site's Configuration Settings (the settings or gear icon within the site view)
3. Locate the Units option
4. Select Metric (metres) or Imperial (feet and inches)
5. Save the change
The measurement tool and any displayed dimensions will update immediately to reflect the new units.
Who can change units?
You need at least Platform Administrator access to edit site configuration settings. If you cannot see the settings option or do not have permission to save changes, contact your account administrator.
If you cannot find the units setting
The exact location of the units option varies slightly depending on your account configuration. If you cannot find it, refer to article 2.7 - Updating Site Configuration Settings for a full walkthrough of the site config panel, or contact AIM support and we will point you to the right place.
Note on the measurement tool
The measurement tool always uses the units set for that site. If a colleague is seeing measurements in a different unit to you, check that you are both looking at the same site and that neither of you has changed the site configuration since the last time it was used.
