Why a site pin might be in the wrong place
When a site is created in AIM, the map location is set by entering a postcode or address. If the postcode covers a large area, the pin may land on the wrong building or in the centre of the postcode zone rather than the specific property. It can also happen if the address was entered with a typo or if the site was created via bulk import with incomplete address data.
How to move the pin
1. Open the site in the AIM Platform
2. Go to the site's settings or edit view (look for an Edit Site or Site Details option)
3. Locate the map panel within the site settings
4. You can either type a new address or postcode to reposition the pin, or drag the pin directly on the map to the correct location
5. Save the change
The pin will update immediately across the platform for all users with access to that site.
Who can move a site pin?
You need Platform Administrator access or higher to edit site details. If you cannot see an edit option on the site, contact your account administrator.
If the site was created via bulk import
Sites created through the CSV bulk import tool use the address data from the spreadsheet. If multiple sites landed in the wrong location, it is worth checking the original import file for formatting issues — particularly whether the postcode column was formatted correctly and whether full addresses were included rather than postcodes alone.
For large-scale corrections across many sites, contact AIM support. We can advise on the most efficient way to update the locations in bulk rather than one at a time.
Still cannot find the edit option?
Refer to article 4.3 - Creating Sites (Individual and Bulk Import) for a walkthrough of the site management interface, or contact AIM support and we will walk you through it.
