To connect:

  1. Turn on your Insta360 camera

  2. Open AIM Capture

4. Capturing a Site

AIM Capture makes on-site work fast and simple.

Start Your Walkthrough

Tap Start Timelapse Capture
➡️ The camera will now take a 360° photo every 0.5 seconds as you walk the property.

This creates a smooth, continuous walkthrough of the entire site.

Note: See the AIM Capture Best Practice Guide for tips on getting the best results.

5. Adding Extra Information (POIs)

As you walk, you can capture additional detail using:

  • Phone Photos

  • 360 Photos

  • Voice Notes

To add a POI:

  1. Tap Phone Photo / 360 Photo / Voice Note

  2. Choose the POI type

  3. Add your photo or notes

POIs automatically sync with the digital model so your team can see:

  • What you captured

  • Where it was captured

  • The context around it

6. Using Checklists

Your organisation may provide checklists to ensure key items are captured (e.g., boilers, meters, smoke alarms).

Just tap the checklist item.

➡️ AIM Capture automatically opens the correct capture screen with the POI type pre-selected.

Checklists can be customised at:

  • Client level

  • Project level

  • Site level

This ensures consistency across all surveys.

7. Finish & Transfer Files

When you’re done:

  1. Tap End Capture

  2. Camera files transfer wirelessly to your phone

  3. Everything is safely stored until upload

8. Uploading the Data

Choose how your data uploads by tapping the gear icon (Settings) on the home screen.

Upload on Mobile Data

Great for teams who need uploads to continue on the move.

Upload on Wi-Fi Only

Ideal if you want to save mobile data.

Uploads automatically pause and resume based on your connection.

9. Offline Use (No Signal Required)

AIM Capture works fully offline.

You can:

  • View synced sites

  • Capture 360 data

  • Add POIs

  • Use checklists

  • Save everything locally

When you're back online, AIM Capture automatically uploads all the stored data to the AIM platform.
